Prescote 'Trans Oral Robotic Surgery'

Mr Jason Fleming is a Consultant ENT Surgeon and Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Liverpool. His clinical practice is based at Aintree Hospital, where he and his team specialise in the field of Nose, Throat, Head and Neck Cancer offering tertiary services to the patients in St Helens, Knowsley, Whiston and Warrington areas.
Mr. Fleming and Norman Lay were introduced when Norman was diagnosed with cancer on the back of his tongue, and was sent to the clinic in St Helens. During his consultation appointment, Mr Flemming informed Norman that his department had been given a loan of a special robot, used in Trans Oral Robotic Surgery and this is a particular interest of Mr Flemming as he had received dedicated training in trans-oral robotic surgery during his time in Alabama USA. Norman was the fist of his patients that he was able to operate on using this amazing technology.

During his time at the hospital, Mr. Flemming informed Norman that he would welcome the opportunity to do a presentation about the work carried out by himself and his team. Not being someone who hesitates, and because he has very much to be thankful for, as Mr Flemming and his team carried out their amazing work and removed the cancer, Norman organized the talk to the members of his Masonic lodges, family and friends.
Approx 50 people came to St Helens to listen to  a presentation by Mr Flemming, as he talked about the work done by himself and his team, and also his interest in robotic surgery.

Norman would like to take this chance to raise awareness and highlight the charity that is hoping to raise enough to enable the purchase of a robot for the Aintree unit and information can be found  at:
